EARLY DAYS : “A MUSICAL IN THE MAKING”

RAINBOW MAN” began its life as a conservation fantasy. In this form it was first presented on stage in a condensed version called “A musical in the making” in 1990, during the DALRO Pot-pourri festival at PACT , with a cast of 4 adults and 10 children. Narration and some dialogue were used to link songs and situations.

One critic called the production “..a children’s musical for adults”. The stage script was re-written in 1991 while the author was working in London, and during 1992 she began to expand the background scenario (see below) and draft script for a TV production.
